I've actually heard people argue that the US media doesn't slant stories as often as people like to think.  Here's a great example… two articles about the exact same event, released on the same day, with two very different conclusions:

CNN: House GOP leaders neglected to protect pages

Fox News: No House Members Broke Rules in Ex-Rep. Foley's Congressional Page Scandal

Yep… no spin here…
