Well, GNOME 2.6 is out, but I keep hearing about this awesome “Spatial Browsing”. This article defines it as being “similar to the way the finder, or query, function works on MAC OS X in that it layers windows on top of each other. Each directory maps directly to a window, so the user doesn’t have two windows representing the same directory, which helps a user tunnel into database information during a query.”
Now… that sounds to me like Nautilus is going to be how Windows used to be many years ago. WTF is so special about it? I must be missing something, as I fucking hate the way it used to work. In fact, one of the first things I used to do with a Windows box was to toggle that into the browser style.
Oh well, I guess we’ll see when 2.6 hits the Debian repository…
